  • I want my money back.

This is so frustrating I’m finally to a point where I will cease supporting Xanga. I was reviewing an old post, and noticed something that needed changing. A Minor thing, just wanted to hightlight a point to make it stand out more clearly. Easy enough, just copy & paste the color coding (span style=”font-weight: bold; color: rgb(223, 128, 32);”) from one spot in the post to where I wanted the point made better. (I know, I know, HTML coding uses Karats ><, but if I put them in the blog, then what I was trying to show vanishes into the background as coding…. ya know?)

Only that's not how it worked. When I hit "Save" (or rather "Update") instead of a nice, bright shiny new point made clear, instead I lost ALL previous highlights throughout the entire post. All of them. Now all the HTML reads is (Span) — (/Span) with no actual coding telling it what to do.

    THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE POST!!!!

This is it, I've had enough. I want my money back from Xanga and I am through with this place. 3 months now I've been waiting for them to fix this and make it better… and nothing.

I'm leaving. I don't like WordPress all that much, but at least there I don't have the headache and hassle I have here when it comes to posting my thoughts.

  • 47 Spam comments

Will it ever end? (I do literally have 47 spam comments in my “discarded” folder) It would seem that Spammers love the new Xanga more than the old one.)

I have now posted my third blog post at WordPress that I have not imported back over to my “paid for” Xanga site. I guess that means I have lost complete faith in Xanga’s future and where XangaTeam has taken us at present (I would describe it thus: Adrift on a vast sea of emptiness.) and to which they haven’t made response to since Sept. 3rd when they cut us loose gave us this empty boat to explore.

I see posts by only those who are my “Friends” before the changeover, but I haven’t seen a single “Front page” from which to discover anything new.

Meanwhile, over at WordPress, I’m writing posts about Ojo Taylor (former lead singer for the Christian band “Undercover” and now avid atheist) and the sad state of “christian” music today, about what happened on the cross (I’ve gotten some rebuke on that one for how I’ve chosen one particular word… I’m presently trying to figure out how it should be phrased), and also a reposting of one of the first pieces of non-fiction I ever wrote, way back in college in 1997.

Three posts that never made it to Xanga….. and only 5 months ago I was one of the PAID life-time members of Xanga who was encouraging everyone to not abandon ship. I even entitled one of my blog posts “Going down with the Titanic” and stated that I wasn’t abandoning ship. (If this was the OLD Xanga, I would have linked you to that post… But I haven’t mastered how to do so in the new.)

    Folks…. the Titanic has sunk.

If I could retract my pledge of support… at this point, I probably would. There just honestly doesn’t seem to be any life here any more outside of SaintVI, quest4God and Aloysius Son. (Oh and lest I forget, SonnetJoy.) Xanga 1.0 is dead, and I cannot —- in all honesty —- praise what has arisen from it’s ashes. Where once was a grand community there has come….. silence. And moreso importantly, where once there was a XangaTeam, responsive to our questions…. again, there is only silence.

Kinda makes you wonder if they are all still out there. If, indeed, anyone is out there.
