My heart for Him, my heart for Him,
Oh! that my life be so consumed
that every act, or thought, or whim
might daily be, unto Thee, as sweetened as perfume.

My heart to Him, my heart to Him
Oh! let my every moment rest
within the care of Thy beloved Son
whom daily carries my burdens best.

My heart is His, my heart is His,
Oh! not a breath would I withhold
    though my failures well persist
yet daily does He reassure my soul.

My heart for Him, my heart for Him
Oh! let nothing stand between, I plea
for if I know not, the love that mends
Oh! daily would my sorrows be.

Our modern age has assigned the word "Heart" the meaning of "our emotional state or well being."  It is a sad and sorely limiting understanding of that word.... as though our emotional state was all that mattered to God.

Biblically, the word "Heart" carries inference not merely to man's emotional condition, but more so to "The thoughts and reflections and will and emotions that proceed forward to produce action."  (That taken from my own writing I have to admit.  Linked Here.)  Biblically your heart is everything in you that comes together to make your feet or hands or mouth move, sinfully or righteously.

Why belabor the point?  Because it is in this second, Biblical sense that I write the words "My heart for Him, my heart for Him..."  My cry is not that I attain some emotional euphoria, but rather that my "every act, or thought, or whim" be surrendered to following my Lord.
